Your Chief Nerd Officer’s books were featured along with dozens of other talented authors, poets, and artists
In 2019, the bubbly visionary, Asadah Kirkland put together the very first Soulful Chicago Bookfair on the Southside of Chicago. It was a roaring success. I was fortunate enough to not only be there to sell copies of my newly published first book, The Chronocar – An Urban Adventure in time, but to also be honored as one of the elder griots,* actually riding on a beautifully adorned float. Asadah has continued this tradition every year, including special fairs for special occasions. On February 15, 2026, I took part in my third Soulful bookfest, the Soulful Chicago Black History Bookfair. True to her tradition, it was a great success with music, poetry and even workshops for budding authors.
