Asadah Kirkland<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

In 2019, the bubbly visionary, Asadah Kirkland put together the very first Soulful Chicago Bookfair<\/strong> on the Southside of Chicago. It was a roaring success. I was fortunate enough to not only be there to sell copies of my newly published first book, The Chronocar – An Urban Adventure in time<\/strong><\/em>, but to also be honored as one of the elder griots,* actually riding on a beautifully adorned float. Asadah has continued this tradition every year, including special fairs for special occasions. On February 15, 2026, I took part in my third Soulful bookfest, the Soulful Chicago Black History Bookfair<\/strong>. True to her tradition, it was a great success with music, poetry and even workshops for budding authors.<\/span><\/p>\n
